A chocolate museum where you can experience history
Choco-Story Playa del Carmen is located on Av. Constituyentes, a few blocks from Fifth Avenue. It is a small, well-designed museum: seven rooms that tell the story of cacao, from the Maya to industrial chocolate, with explanations in six languages.
The tour ends with a demonstration by a chocolatier and a tasting. We're open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and the last admission is at 9:15 p.m., so feel free to stop by at any time of day—even after dinner.

How long does the tour last?

Yes. Groups of 8 or more are considered a group. You can book directly through the online booking system or contact us to make arrangements.
What's included in the ticket price?
A tour of the museum's galleries, a presentation and demonstration by a chocolatier, and a tasting at the end. The galleries feature explanations in six languages.

How much is admission?
General admission is $210 MXN. Reduced-price tickets are available for $145 for students, seniors over 60, and residents of Quintana Roo (upon presentation of a student ID or other form of identification), and for $100 for children ages 6 to 12. Children under 6 enter for free.

We are open seven days a week, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Last admission is at 9:15 p.m.
We're the only Choco-Story museum that's open at night—you can come by after dinner.
Where are they?
On Constituyentes Avenue between 10th and 15th Streets, in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood, a few blocks from Fifth Avenue. You can walk there from downtown Playa del Carmen.
Are there any chocolate workshops?
Yes. The workshop lasts one hour, is led by a master chocolatier, and you get to take home what you make. It costs 720 MXN per person and must be booked separately.
There are five sessions a day: 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m.
Can I bring my pet?
No, pets are not allowed in the museum. Service dogs are permitted, however.
